「左轉？右轉？左轉！」——第 8 集：用最簡單的英文問路到荷里路德宮

《The London to Edinburgh Challenge》是 BBC Learning English 的 A2 級系列短劇：Fran、Bob 和 Paula 三個人帶着一百英鎊，五天之內由倫敦走到愛丁堡，每一集教一個實用的英語功能。

不過抵達 Holyrood 之後挑戰還未完：「So, now what? To win, go to Edinburgh Castle. It’s at the top of the hill.」眾人一片「What?」。Fran 抵達後說「So, I’m at Holyrood.」，Bob 也得到一句「Well done.」；大家望着山頂問「That hill? Up there?」，主持人一句「Yes! Go! Now!」催他們出發，全片以「Next time, on the London to Edinburgh Challenge.」作結。

實用英語：問路時直接用得上的句式

以下句子全部出自這一集，句式簡單到可以照著唸，在街上問路時隨時用得上。

① 講出你要去哪裡：Go to Holyrood.（去荷里路德宮。）It’s at the end of the Royal Mile.（它在 Royal Mile 的盡頭。）I need to go to Holyrood, at the end of the Royal Mile.（我要去荷里路德宮，在 Royal Mile 的盡頭。）

② 聽清楚指示：Turn left.（向左轉。）Go up the hill to the left.（沿著左邊的山坡往上走。）At the end of the road, turn left on to the Royal Mile.（走到路的盡頭，左轉上 Royal Mile。）It’s at the top of the hill.（它在山頂上。）
